Petroleum & Fuel

Petroleum & Fuel

Liquid, Gaseous and Solid fuels are the main source of energy. With the increasing awareness of stringent environment laws there is a greater need to test the materials to control the quality. This quality control is important in automobile and power sectors. Besides, these fuels have to be evaluated from the view point of pollution control.

During the past six decades, SRI has been a support to the stakeholders like

Regulatory Agencies, Refineries , Policy Makers, Industry Units, Certifying Agencies

Research Institutions & Universities

FUNCTIONAL AREAS FOR PETROLEUM & FUEL AT SRI

The capabilities of SRI in the Petroleum & Fuel sector are dedicated to the following functional areas:

  • Quality Evaluation of Petroleum Oils.
  • Study of Insulating oils for their suitability in the electrical equipment.
  • Opinion report with proposed remidies for further suitability of Transformer oils to use.
  • Studies on the Fuel additives for assessing their performance & optimizing their doses.
  • Studies on Adulterations in Petroleum oils.
  • Studies of the Engine oil after using them in Aircrafts.
  • Imparting Training.
